Frequently Asked Questions

Ask Questions

  • Why should I take lessons?

While your Mum and Dad or licenced friends are probably all great drivers with clean driving records it doesn’t necessarily mean they are the best teachers. Its always best to learn from an experienced, knowledgeable, and professional teacher who can help you understand your basic priorities and procedures when you start learning.

  • How many lessons do I need?
Tough question. Every person is different in their learning abilities, some pick up skills after 15 or 20 hours, some take longer, some are super co ordinated and multitask quickly whilst some are not.
Learning to master the art of driving is a complicated set of skills. Your first goal is to become comfortable and master the basics of driving smoothly and being aware of your surroundings, other aspects such as reading the traffic, honing your defensive skills and recognizing potentially hazardous situations take substantially longer.Skills you will still be learning many years after the driving test.
Most students take 2 blocks of lessons during their accumulation of 120 logbook hours, the first when starting to drive as a fresh beginner until they become competent to drive with a parent or friend, and the second closer to the driving test to ensure their range of new skills, both physical and mental, are proficient and at a test standard. Many students return after passing their driving test to become proficient in other aspects of driving such as negotiating busy city traffic, mastering shopping center carparks and country or highway driving.
  • Can Mum or Dad come out during my lessons?

Of course, I welcome any potential supervisor to come to see how I teach and to also gain confidence in their own teaching skills to develop a cautious and confident approach with a focus on the defensive characteristics of driving.

  • How much are lessons and hourly packages?
  • Is there a book with all the road rules that I need to learn?
